The mark on the front is Brâncuși's Gate of the Kiss. Two halves of one circle, the oldest way anyone has drawn two people becoming one.
I made it thinking about what people are really hoping for when they hope for love. That it will be a story and not a lesson. That it will show how beautifully you can be loved, not how much you can endure. That you will not have to guess what the other one feels, or fight for attention, or ask for things that should arrive on their own.
For me it stayed an illusion. I mistook unrest for love, for years. The symbol is still the symbol.
Red leather, pressed with heat and weight until the gate stayed in it. A classic fold: room for the old ID card, for cards, for notes. No large promises. Just something in your pocket, there every time you reach for it.
This time the symbol of love passed the test of heat and pressure. The symbol. What it stands for did not.
One in the world. Cut, stitched and finished by Alexandra, in Arad.
Don't look in the crowd. Look inside.
